The Afghan Sports Federation's ASL season came to end on June 27th, 2012 at South Run Park in an exciting and high-energy match between Aryana and Afghan United. Supporters from both teams and officials of ASF attended the Championship game with great enthusiasm.

The first half of the game was very close and ended 0-0. The breakthrough for Afghan United came just after the half time when Maroof Gulistani thrashed two right-footed shots from 25 yards , which bent wickedly past goalkeeper Safi Barakzai and into the top-right corner. Maroof went on to have a hat trick by scoring a penalty kick awarded to Afghan United due to handball by Aryana’s defender inside the box.

Aryana had a few good chances to score, but Afghan United’s defense lead by Faiz Behgoman was proven very hard to penetrate.  However Aryana did manage to score a consolation goal in the dying minutes of the game to make the final score 3-1.

Since 1998, the Afghan Sports Federation has been holding seasonal league games that includes a Spring and Fall season for its teams to get prepared for the annual ASF's Afghan Cup also known as the 4ht of July tournament.

At the end of the game, trophies and medals were awarded to champions Afghan United and runners-up Aryana who will be representing ASF in this years Afghan Cup 2012 tournament.

ASF/ASL officials congratulate Afghan United for a successful season.
