This year's ASF tournament attracted teams from Canada, NY, and NJ which added further excitment and competitiveness to the event. A total of 8 teams participated in this year's tournament on Saturday, February 18th, 2012 at Nzone SportsPlex in Chantilly, VA and Dulles SportsPlex in Ashburn, VA.
Participating teams were Afghan United (VA), Afghan 11 (Canada), Aryana (VA), Brishna (NY), Pamir (NJ), Kickers (VA), Dunya 1 (VA), and Dunya 2 (VA). After a competitive and grueling round robin, the top four teams advanced to the semi-finals. In the first semi-final match Brishna FC defeated last year's champions, Kickers FC in a fierce and close game, 4 - 3.
The second semi-final was an exciting, high scoring game and Aryana FC was able to comfortably defeat Afghan 11, 12 - 8 to advance to the championship game. The championship game was a showcase of talent, and test of stamina as it was played at 4 AM. After two 25 minute halves, Brishna FC defeated Aryana FC by a score of 6 - 4, to be crowned this year's ASF Midnight Madness Indoor Soccer Tournament Champions. Congratulations to Brishna FC's players, management, and fans. The Afghan Sports Federation would like to extend special thanks to all teams and players especially Pamir FC of NJ, Afghan 11 of Canada, and Brishna FC of NY, for their participation in this year's indoor tournament.
