ASF 2014 Midnight Madness Indoor
Kickers FC's constant pressure and wanting to win paid off in the dying seconds of the game when goal keeper Hamid Panjshiri headed a ball off board to his team mate to tie the game 5 - 5. The goal was scored right at the final buzzer and kickers momentum carryed them into winning the Championship in PKs. A total of 6 teams participated in this year's tournament on Sunday, Feburary 23th, 2014 at Dulles SportsPlex in Sterling, VA. Participating teams were all from Virginia, USA including Kickers FC, Afghan American FC, Afghan Youth, Afghan FC, Afghan United , and Aryana FC. After a competitive and grueling round robin, the top four teams advanced to the semi-finals. Kikcers FC defeated Afghan United in the 1st semifinal game and AAFC defeated Aryana in the second semifinals to guarantee their spots in the Championship game. The Afghan Sports Federation would like to extend special thanks to all teams, players, and manager for their participation in this year's indoor tournament and making it another successful community event.
