2013 Midnight Madness Indoor Champions
Kickers FC Wins ASF's 2013 Indoor Soccer Championship
Kickers FC claimed ASF's Midnight Madness Indoor Soccer title by topping Afghan 11 of VA 3 - 1 in penalty kicks. The championship game was a thriller and test of stamina. Kickers FC's constant pressure and hunger to win paid off in the dying seconds of the game when goal keeper Hamid Panjshiri headed in a goal from a rebound off the board to tie the game 6 - 6.
A total of 7 teams participated in this year's tournament on Sunday, March 10th, 2013 at Dulles SportsPlex in Steling, VA. Participating teams were Afghan United (VA), Afghan 11, AFC, Pamir (NJ), Kickers (VA), AAFC, and Pamir (VA). After a competitive and grueling round robin, the top four teams advanced to the semi-finals.
Kikcers FC defeated Afghan United of VA in the 1st semi final game and Afghan 11 defeated AAFC in the second semi finals to gurantee their spots in the Championship game. The Afghan Sports Federation would like to extend special thanks to all teams, players, and manager for their participation in this year's indoor tournament and making it another successful community event.
