The Afghan Sports Federation (ASF) held its 10th annual Bowling tournament in Annandale Virginia on Sunday February 24th.
As this become a tradition during winters for the Afghan community, young and old got together for a day of fun & competition. 15 teams composed of men & women competed for the Championship starting at 11.00 am in the morning.
Youth teams played each other in a separate group as to encourage them to become full fledge competitors in the future. Some of the veterans of years past were edged out by newcomers and this year a different team then last year won the trophy.
"3 Stars" lead by Azi Wasiq was declared Champions beating team "Kabulis" in the final round of the games. The MVP of the games with the highest score was Rose Park D of team "3 Star". Bowling Commissioner Wyce Baber and his colleague Hanna Karimi presented both first and second place winners with their trophies. Team captain of "Kabulis" accepted the 2nd place trophy on behalf of his team.
The event drew members of the community with their respective families in a day of fun and togetherness.
