Afghan-American, Hamza Monawer, Selected to the USA Under-15 National Team Training Camp

MONAWER SELECTED TO THE U.S. UNDIER-15 BOYS’ NATIONAL TEAM TRAINING CAMP

Arlington, VA – October 26, 2012 - Arlington Soccer Association (ASA) player Hamza Monawer has been selected to attend the Under-15 Boys’ National Team Training Camp in Carson, California from October 27-November 3rd.  Tony Lepore, the Head Coach of the U15 Boys’ National team, recently named a 36-player roster for the team’s upcoming camp to be held at the Home Depot Center.

Monawer plays for Arlington Soccer Association’s (ASA) U15B Impact Red team. Impact Red plays in the Virginia Club Champions League (VCCL) and US Youth Soccer’s Region 1 league.

Hamza was identified at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center session held on September 28th at Long Bridge Park in Arlington, Virginia. U.S. Soccer Training Centers are single day, invitational training sessions run by U.S. Soccer staff for elite players in key soccer markets. Training Centers are open to the top players from any team, club or organization at no cost to the player. The purpose of the Training Center program is to identify the best players for the U.S. Soccer Youth National Team program.

German Peri, the Director of Travel Coaching (DOTC) for ASA, says, “We are very proud of Hamza being selected as one of the players to attend the National Team Training Camp. Hamza will serve as a great representative for his club team and his club. He has a bright future in the game. In addition, the club is looking forward to more opportunities like this for our club players”.

This training camp marks the first of the new cycle of players born in 1998. The full roster for the training camp is below.
